Evaluation of Nutritional Deficiencies and Use of Supplements in Patients with 2 Years of Bariatric Surgery

RESUMO
A cirurgia bariátrica é considerada tratamento eficaz da obesidade mórbida, sendo as técnicas mistas, as mais realizadas em todo mundo. O objetivo deste estudo é analisar o estado nutricional de pacientes com 2 anos de pós-operatório de bypass gástrico em Y de Roux, identificando a presença de deficiências nutricionais e uso de suplementos. Trata-se de estudo observacional, transversal e retrospectivo. Dos 148 pacientes avaliados, 95,30%, eram mulheres. A média de IMC pré-operatório foi de 40,06 Kg/m² para 26,43 Kg/m² com 2 anos pós-operatório. Em relação às deficiências nutricionais do pós-operatório, foram observadas nos pacientes: deficiência de ferro (21,6%), vitamina B12 (8,8%) e zinco (8,1%). Quanto a vitamina D, 38,5% dos pacientes apresentaram insuficiência e 18,9% deficiência. Não foi observada correlação do uso de suplementos nutricionais com a presença de deficiências.
ABSTRACT
Bariatric surgery is considered an effective treatment for morbid obesity, and mixed techniques are the most commonly performed in the world. The objective of this study is to analyze the nutritional status of patients with 2 years postoperatively of Roux-en-Y gastric bypass, identifying the presence of nutritional deficiencies and the use of supplements. This is an observational, cross-sectional and retrospective study. Of the 148 patients evaluated, 95.30%, were women. The average preoperative BMI ranged from 40.06 kg/m² to 26.43 kg/m² at 2 years postoperatively. In relation to the nutritional deficiencies of the postoperative, the following were observed in the patients: iron deficiency (21, 6%), vitamin B12 (8, 8%) and zinc (8, 1%). As for vitamin D, 38.5% of the patients presented insufficiency and 18, 9% deficiency. There was no correlation between the use of nutritional supplements and the presence of deficiencies.
